Our Yoga Shaala Teachers are internationally accredited, who have conducted more than 50 TTC's by which giving birth to more than 1000 enthusiastic Yoga Teachers around the world, have exclusive recognition and qualify for teaching 200-hr Yoga Alliance Certification Course. Graduates of our programme are automatically eligible to register as a RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) with Yoga Alliance U.S.. Becoming a RYT means having a higher profile and gaining international recognition as a yoga teacher, attributes that many hiring studios look for.

During Teacher Training course, you'll experience asana and meditation practice, teachings of historical yogic texts, a study of anatomy as well as a thorough analysis of teaching methodology by regularly attending the classes and assisting the classes throughout the Teacher Training Course which is an added advantage for the upcoming teachers.

Yoga is a personal practice and teaching should always come from your heart. We'll give you the knowledge to create restorative and dynamic classes, how to modify yoga for different groups and abilities, and how to create classes that are safe and fun. Along the way, we'll continue to support you in developing your own unique style.

Syllabus

Origin and Ancient Philosophy

• History and Modern History (Main Yogic Epics, Vedas, Upanishads etc.)
• Streams of Yoga (Jnana Yoga, Raja Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga, Mantra Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, etc.)
• Yoga Sutras of Patañjali (The Bible Of Yogic Studies) – Important Sutras, their Spiritual Values and Applications in Modern Yogic Science
• Ashtanga Yoga and its Limbs as per Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras

Asana

• Foundations of each asana and modifications for general students, stiffer students and students with injuries
• Art of modification of asanas for beginner, intermediate and advanced practitioners
• Detailed explanation of proper application of muscle groups to reduce effort and maximize efficiency
• Intelligent way of progression from basics towards intermediate and advanced levels
• Safe alignment based on human anatomy and proper engagement of muscle groups
• Hands-on adjustments practice for each asana
• Art of adjustments, contact points of body, amount of pressure to be applied depending on different body types, standing positions during adjustments for minimal personal effort and maximum output from students
• Dialogues of basic asanas for efficient class instruction and management

Hatha Yoga, Energies and Pranas

• Pancha Koshas (Sheaths) and Pancha Pranas (Esoteric Energy)
• Pranayama – its extensive value on Hatha Yoga and different practices
• Diaphragmatic, Thoracic, Clavicular Breaths
• Regular Pranayama Practices (Nadi Shuddhi, Kapalabhati, Ujjayi, Sheetali, Sheetkari, Surya Bhedana, Bhastrika and their variations)
• Nadis (Channel through which energy passes)

Schedule



Course dates :

          Starts on : June 4th, 2021           Graduation on : August 28th, 2021
2 weekends off during “Eid Al adha holidays”

Classes will be on every weekend between the above mentioned dates that includes the dates mentioned also.


200 - Hour Course Trainee will undergo classes on the following basis.:

Friday’s    ::    12:30 pm - 6:30 pm (5:30 hrs)
Saturday’s    ::    8:00 am - 4:30 pm (7:00 hrs)
Each weekend - 12:30 hours (x 10 weekends = 125 hours)
- Group classes minimum to be attended = 60 hours (60 classes in 3 months)
- Exam and assignment = 15-20 hours minimum (Self study, teaching training)
Total :: 200 Hours

2 weekends off during “Eid Al adha holidays”

All hours can be counted towards Yoga Alliance Registration.

Our course is taught in English only. Our Yoga Shaala Team members can also speak Tamil, Hindi and Telugu.

Requirements

This training is open to anyone who is interested in deepening their knowledge and practice of Yoga
     - Independent of Age, Gender, Religious affiliation, Nationality and Physical Ability.
     - This practice in a peaceful environment with high quality teaching have transformative effect on your life even if your primary purpose is not to teach Yoga to others after completion of this course.

Students who are interested in participating should bear in mind that this will be a physically and emotionally demanding programme. It will require a strong commitment and personal sacrifice, as well as the support of the student's primary support network.
Interested students must:
• Have a deep desire to learn and personally explore the deeper dimensions of yoga
• Have a minimum 6 months of regular yoga practice (or) 3 months of yoga practice after completion of Foundation Yoga Course at Yoga Shaala.
• Be free of major injuries before going into the programme
• Have a coachable attitude
• Be fully committed and understand that 90% full attendance is required
• Be willing to forgo most other personal or professional commitments for the duration of the programme
• Submit a brief 250-word essay describing: "Why I want to teach yoga" or if you do not intend to teach: "Why I want to take this training." (this is to be submitted on the online application form. Please click here to register online).

Cancellation Policy
I. In case of cancellation of the entry, before 30 days of course; minimum cancellation amount – deduction of 30% of the total course cost.
II. In case of cancellation of the entry, before 15 days of event; minimum cancellation amount – deduction of 50% of the total course cost.
III. In case of cancellation of the entry, no show for the event, no amount will be refunded.(decision of Yoga Shaala Management is final).

FAQ

Why do we call our course as Multi Style Yoga Teacher Training Course?
During the course the trainees will learn different styles of classes that includes but not limited to Hatha, Sivananda, Vinyasa, Pre - Natal, Post - Natal, Kids, Yin, Bihar School of Yoga, and Yoga Therapy.
How to get to the Course Location?
Yoga Shaala is situated at the Heart of the City. It is easily accessible from every part of Muscat. To get a clear picture of the route please click here.

Will I be able to teach right after I graduate from this programme?
Yes. All the course materials taught in this course prepare students with all the foundational knowledge and skills needed to become yoga teacher. Some students take it to deepen their own personal practice, kick-start a life transformational experience, while others do it to immediately to start a teaching career. Others who do not want to proceed into teaching immediately would immerse into further trainings. More than half the students from our graduate programmes begin teaching friends, family, moving into part-time teaching in studios and then full-time teaching.
Will I be able to teach at Yoga Shaala after graduating from this programme?
Yoga Shaala is always open to applications and supports graduates from our programmes. While we encourage graduates to apply with us, there is never a guarantee of job placement due to availability of openings or space within our studios. However, any graduates that apply with us are kept in our database and are advised if there are openings available.
Will Yoga Shaala help with my Yoga Alliance application?
Upon successful graduation of our teacher training programmes, Yoga Shaala will send the students a link to where they can apply for the Yoga Alliance certification. Our programmes and our school is Yoga Alliance accredited, meaning that students graduating from our programmes will “automatically” be approved when they apply to Yoga Alliance. From there, students will take their own steps in applying for Yoga Alliance – whether you are applying for 200-hour certification, 500-hour or so forth.
If I miss one day, will I be able to make up for it?
Students undergoing this programme must be fully committed and understand that 90% attendance is required. They must also be willing to forgo most other personal or professional commitments for the duration of the programme – only with 90% attendance and completion of the course will students receive a certificate and no make-up of work will be given. Should there be any problems with this, students must speak with the faculty prior to the course and only under very special circumstances will it be considered.
Will I receive a certificate after the programme?
Upon successful completion of the course (passing both practical and theory exam), 90% attendance, and following the code of conduct – students will receive a Certificate of Completion from Yoga Shaala for this teacher training programme.

Team Yoga Shaala

Marksim Karki is a Young Founder and energetic Yoga Teacher of Yoga Shaala , Muscat. At the age of ten, yoga came into his life and he never stopped since. He has organized many classes, workshops, courses and retreats around the world. His passion for yoga has been constantly growing with Muscat Yoga Community which has given the initiation for Yoga Shaala.
With an accreditation of E-RYT -500 from Yoga Alliance (US), he will be the Lead Teacher of our Yoga Teacher Training Course(TTC)
.He has been teaching for the last 15 years around the world and has developed the seed of seeking in the yogic field in many minds. His passion for teaching always inspires him to gain in-depth knowledge in yogic field and meditation.
His teaching is based on theory, discussion and demonstration, using all the modern tools and techniques without losing the Ancient Enrichment.
Yogesh is a E-RYT 500 YA Teacher hailing from Tamil Nadu, India. Yogesh was first introduced to yoga by his school teacher when he was 9. His thirst for knowledge led him to enrol in the world-famous yoga school, the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre. The Yoga Teacher’s Training equipped him with more than just a solid foundation in hatha yoga, pranayama, deep meditation techniques and yoga philosophy. This discovery became great motivation for him to share his yoga journey with others.
